Flooring

There are many factors to be taken into account when choosing the correct flooring for your home. It is essential to obtain expert advice from The Flooring Studio to make sure you choose the correct flooring in terms of colour, texture, appearance and functionality taking the time to decide on the appropriate type, colour and style of carpet or wood flooring for the room in question is worthwhile.

What should I think about when buying flooring?

Take into account the amount of wear-and-tear the flooring is likely to endure. If it is for a room or area with heavy traffic such as a main entrance hall, stairs or living room then a harder-wearing surface will be required.

Also take into account the function of the room. Certain flooring types are not recommended for rooms which are humid or damp (such as bathrooms and utility rooms) and equally, some types of hardwood and laminate flooring may be unsuitable for bedrooms and living areas if comfort is preferred.

The level of the room to be floored is also a factor. Rooms on ground level and below can be more susceptible to moisture problems. Ground level flooring usually sees more traffic than other floors.

Think about the décor which is already in the room in question. Does the carpet or flooring match? If in doubt, ask us about our FREE sampling service which allows you to take samples home to consider in situ.
